It was a decent movie but missed a lot of the thriller part and showing off the creature and how scary he is. It just had a few jump scares and felt it was just an episode of a tv show not a movie.

I liked the authenticity of the ship. I had never seen what the insides of that type of ship would look like on a typical voyage. I am not sure that the Dracula figure was the best representation of Dracula for a film.

Good movie. I enjoyed the spin on Dracula. I was a huge fan of the FX series the strain about vampires and this movie kind of reminded me about that show. I would have liked back story on how the village came to an agreement with Dracula to send him to London or was it’s Dracula’s idea to leave because of the dwindling population? I would have liked to see how the vampire moved around the ship.

If this movie wouldn’t have played it’s hand fully showing Dracula in the trailer and so early in the film, it would have been such a good atmospheric slow burn horror movie. They had all of the elements of a period piece perfectly and could’ve easily taken the high road. Instead they went against every instinct to do anything like that had shoehorned in some gory creature feature type scares.
