Surprisingly good movie. Depicted history of Bobby Fisher as I remembered it over the years. Movie kept my attention from start to end.

Gripping in its own way. The re-enactments of scenes from the late 60s to the early 70s play out with a kind of patina grown on ideological supremacies that now seem quaint but also reassuring, as if the overexposed people of a certain age today can still take umbrage in the verities of genius and beauty and madness and yet survive, yet lack all purpose and be endlessly driven to distraction.

Very well acted and very interesting even though I don't play chess. To see the genius in someone is inspiring. to see the line between genius and deterioration in the mind is strangely fascinating. This movie was well done.
