Some of the situations were predictable, but the reactions to the situations were believable (e.g. medicine left in car, wrist bands being stolen). Some scenes reminded me of other movies, specifically Independence Day and Deep Impact. I liked the diversity of the supporting cast of characters. The movie kept my attention, especially the scenes with the mother and son.

It had the right amount of action, drama and suspense. And Gerard Butler is a solid actor, always.

Greenland is a very well done disaster film, with some genuine depth and strong acting by the leads. The special effects are excellent as well and the story is believable, suspenseful, and well-directed. Where the movie falls somewhat short is that it is very similar in some aspects to the premise behind the disaster film 2012, though, in this case, the threat comes from outer space and not the earth's core. Despite this, the film is an excellent addition to the disaster film genre.

Action and family and love and destruction. It has it all. Gerard butler is always captivating and made for roles like these. Great story line and acting.
