It was fun! Good jump scares! I hope it's in 3D when it opens. I was hoping for more relatable scariness...ie psychological horror. I wasn't scared to walk to my car when I left...

It was great for a horror film. It has a nice balance of humor and pretty eerie moments. It has a little more action than actual horror in my opinion. Jump scares here and there, but what really sells this film is the atmospheric tension built throughout. The young performers in the cast are fantastic! I would recommend this film.

It was ok more creepy than scary

While the screenplay's crude teen boy humor won big laughs, the heavy-handed jump scares failed to elicit the same reactions. For a film with such a terrifying and pithy source text, It missed the emotional appeals and profound terror King developed decades ago in the Maine small town. Impressive performances from a rising child cast couldn't redeem the funnier-than-scary slasher flick.
