It is an entertaining story that is not always predictable. Some scenes are very graphic, but are important for the story arch. Overall, it's worth a look.

I think this was a heartfelt story! That touched the audience on one simple universal message, which is dispite our differnce we should all have one moral objective. Helping one another ! This movie played on that emotion and slowly but suductivley lured the audience in. Touching on different emotions along the way, ranging from love, religion, friendships and family.

It was a pretty good movie. I don't normally watch war movies though. One thing I disliked about the movie was editing was choppy. For example, near the beginning Desmond's mom says about his father "I wish you could have known him before the war." Then when the next scene started it wasn't clear whether it was a flashback or the current time. I felt this way several times throughout the movie.

We absolutely loved the story of this heroic man. We need more real heroes who stand by their convictions even when it is costly to do so. However, even though the battle scenes were necessary to establish that cost, they were a bit more graphically violent than we felt was.
