Really wanted to like this film. Unfortunately, the directing and pacing of the story were really hard to keep me engaged. I only ended up watching the first 30 minutes of the film. Several of the scenes lingered without giving us new information. A lot of the dialogue and interactions with Boogie's family kept mentioning his need for the scholarship and we see he clearly has some authority issues, but we didn't get enough insight soon enough as to why he's that way. Also, Boogie is a nice kid but I wasn't rooting for him enough. I wanted to be more invested in his pursuit.

This may rate higher with a younger crowd. I didn't care for the movie, to many loose ends and the final game wasn't as good as the build up made it seem it would be.

As Boogie stated to the coach the team was trash well this movie was trash horrible. The acting was way below average the story we've all seen before several years ago combining "He Got Game" and "Above the Rim". I also hate the always in a movie the hypersexual black woman and the so innocent asian guy. Also the old narrative of defeating the big black bully. Typical, typical this movie was straight trash

Totally disappointed as logged in before 7, then dinner took too long, and at 7:30 when we were set to watch I was told we were too late!!\rSo didn't get to see it, and not ready to pay $24 for it. Will have to wait to rent later when price drops to $6. \rGuess i misunderstood the fixed time of actual viewing ve login time. \r\rDiana
