It is a very good and well directed film. The young unknown actor, who is the main character, along with his nightmares, plays a remarkable role. The role of Liam Neeson as the tree monster shows his versatility as an actor.

A heartfelt drama depicting how a young boy is forced to deal with his mothers life threatening illness. Really bringing real world problems to the screen.

Although the book is still better (when aren't they?), this movie still maintain the same messages and deliver them really well. The audiences reactions at the screening, laughing, crying, lots of crying, shows that the movie is successful in bringing the story to life.
