If you loved Brooklyn you'll love this film. While the women leads were strong in both films, their male true love interests shine in their endearing portrayals. The hopeful longing and doggedness in pursuit plus the respect for his love's spirit and intelligence are expressed in ways other than trite endless speeches. It was more realistic and noteworthy to witness the same economic class conflicts exposed within Black communities but presented without verbal or physical vulgarity or violence.

It was real from beginning. A must see movie
