Solid teen romance mixed with a little (too little!) sci-fi. Exhilarating rocket launches, some good low-tension action. I want one of those little NASA suborbital planes. I want one.Writing surprised me a few times even in a predictable teen melodrama plotline. The young actors were up to the task. Gary Oldman raged and raved. The score was poured over everything thickly. Please dial it down: we can figure things out for ourselves!This should do OK at the box office, it seems to me. I am grateful for the opportunity to see the screening. Thanks for the tickets.

Great story, but I saw the twist coming a mile away. Really well done visuals, but Gary Oldmsn seemed really out of place in this role. Enjoyed it overall!

Overall the movie was entertaining, but we thought the dialogue was kinda cheesy at times.

It was nice for a kind of feel good movie. The first half of the movie seemed to move a little slow and I caught myself checking my watch and looking around. I didn't feel emotionally attached to Gardner, I think I needed more of what it was like for him to grow up with scientists as parents. I found myself feeling more for Tulsa and Kendra. It was them that I finally ended up choked up for when Kendra had to give up her role as Gardner's mother and then openly was willing to take Tulsa in. That and it actually bothered me how perfect everything ended up. To me that not real life and I felt like it needed something to ground it.
