Excellent, touching and fun.

It was relevant, humorous, sad, touching and thoroughly enjoyable. The acting was superb. I liked how no matter how irreverent the characters were the body was always treated with respect. Lots of good life themes. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

With all due respect to the Reverend Fishburne the film got a bit too preachy at times with its politico-religious messaging. That aside, successfully turning a story about a loser widower traveling around the east coast to bury his son into a feel good comedy takes some real vision. Straddling absurdity throughout, the balance of personalities just about holds everything together.

Movies that show heart, compassion and emotion are the movies I tend to attend and enjoy.
