I thought the story of Desmond Doss was beautifully told through this movie. This movie simultaneously depicted the horrors of war and the courage of Desmond Doss. I have already recommended this film to several family members and friends!

Excellent depiction of what goes on in an actual war

I loved the movie! It was warm, funny and gory! It was well done and I would definitely go to see it again. It was awesome and I liked that it was based on a true story so it made it even more realistic. It showed how war really is without sugar coating it and I felt like I was there and war really is just awful. Nice ending with the real Desmond Doss.

Andrew Garfield embodied this character and gave honor to the man who's life it was based on. He made me believe in his convictions, he was in truly in love and executed the innocence of southern charm.Mel Gibson did a fantastic job directing. I think he's one of Hollywood's best.
