Spoiler: In the scene where Cassie confronts Dean Walker’s blanket memory lapse followed by utter denial, then blaming the victim, I couldn’t help but be reminded of the Supreme Court confirmation hearing for Justice Kavanaugh with its star character witness, Christine Blasey Ford, being brushed off as an unstable woman who made poor decisions when she was young because boys will be boys. In real life I’m sure it’s much more detrimental.\r\rThe storyline was a fresh take on the revenge theme, and Carey Mulligan’s performance was one of her best yet. The ending may surprise you, it’s that good.
