It was mildly entertaining. Very predictable and I had a hard time buying Meryl as an old rocker chick. Also thought her daughter over acted a bit. Rick Springfield at least looked and sounded good - but he should stick to music as a career.

The movie was a waste of good talent. Meryl Streep usually gives award winning performances. She seemed to walk through this movie. Kevin Kline looked uncomfortable in his role. I felt like I had seen this movie before, played by other actors. How did Ricki's band show up during the wedding scene, when everyone was too broke to travel?

Seemed to be a vehicle just to show Meryl Streep's singing ability. Rick Springfield, Kevin Kline and Streep's daughter were excellent. Ending was too simplistic. Enjoyable but not great.

It's a good actor's movie. The musical performances by the actors are very good. The screenplay and direction were not up to the high standards set previously by Jonathan Demme and Diablo Cody. Forget the Bollywood ending. Great family gathering scene at the restaurant. Audra McDonald turned a small part into something much more.
