Not quite what I was expecting but good.

A fun summer blockbuster, with humor and thrills. I was not impressed by Li Bingbing's acting, however.

It was funny and made me jump out of my seat a few times. Just what I went for.

The screening quality hurt our experience, in that the film wasn't properly framed and no one could read the English subtitles. So unless you spoke Mandarin, much of the dialog was lost. The film was fairly fun, but cliche and relied heavily on jump scares and red herrings. I would love to see an R-rated cut with some gore effects, as that would have made this horror fan a lot happier.
