Songbird is a great film. It is definitely a very apropos film for the times we are living in. Songbird takes us to a very possible future of permanent lockdowns, mandatory daily testing, UV sanitation, and the abuses of the system. I thought all the characters were interesting and complex. I thought KJ Apa was a great lead as he plays this kind of rebel hero who tries not to take this crazy new life he finds himself in too seriously. He has dreams of one day getting him and his girlfriend far from all this craziness. I liked the way the film shows the corruption of a world where those who suddenly find themselves at the top of the world because of immunity take advantage of a pandemic. It is interesting to see how different people react to power and I like the way the film brings that out in the characters. There were a couple of things that I felt were a little problematic with the film. Overall, I really liked it and I usually always love a happy ending(and I love that everything pretty much ends up happy and bright in the end), but I felt like everything wrapped up a little too nicely at the end. The fact that Sara ends up being immune seemed a little too convenient. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad she was, and her and Nico get to be together is awesome, but also seems easy. Also, I was a little lost on the concept of "the Songbird" itself. I'm guessing it was the girl who would sing online, who became a prisoner to the music mogul, and who is liberated in the end. To me that seemed to be more of a side story than the main idea for the movie, but I guess they all do work together to help each other be set free in their own way. I definitely enjoyed Songbird and will recommend it to others. Thanks STX!

I thought it was an interesting look at potential for the worst in relation to current life. Thriller, Drama, comedy, action, love story in one. Demi Moore & Craig superb in their roles. Cast was well done.
