Cute!

It was OK. It had a lot going for it, but then it really didn't develop the characters enough. Plus it was too hookey.

The Space Between Us is tells the story of Gardner Elliott and his quest to come home. Though a little lacking in logical continuity and a painfully broken scientifically, the combination of concept and performance elevate this film to and enjoyable level. Some of the directorial decisions might be a bit out there (The van hanging a hard turn while Shepherd is hanging out the door, throwing him out of the vehicle, comes to mind), Chelsom makes up for it with spot on focus on the little things like facial expressions.I feel like an intentional sacrifice of accuracy and logic was made to tell the story that Chelsom wanted to tell. If that is the case, then that is his creative decision and more power to him - it's a tough job, for Pete's sake. For me, the scientific failures, disjointed logic, and slightly off-kilter character interaction (particularly that of Shepherd and Kendra), prevented this film from being great.
