Honestly, it was 'okay', not great. I felt they tried 'too hard' to work foul language into the scenes when not necessary. Also, the scene where Boogie is staring at the crotch of the girl in the gym is gratuitous and unnecessary to move the story line forward. I am not a prude and certainly love a lot of R rated movies even w/foul language and scenes, etc... This Boogie just doesn't fit in that category for me. I did appreciate the flash back to scenes w/his parents and so many references to the "traditional Chinese culture" and Boogie trying to find the balance in that w/his life.

They movie failed to grab my attention. The acting was not very good as well.

What a boring and terrible movie... not only does it not have a story to tell that would be worth telling, but the characters do not much more than sitting around talking or repeating the same actions like being in the class room, all bored, or sitting at home on the sofa and talking, mostly using f bombs and similar expletives. About 20 minutes into the movie, I gave up. My husband and I both got worn out even trying to understand what they were saying, when it was supposedly English. Half the movie is in Chinese, by the way. A total waste of our time!

Acting was forced. I didn't feel a connection to the characters.
