Well made, exceptional acting, fascinating story, haven't stopped thinking about it, peeling away the layers. Can't quite work out who the target market is though. Recommending to educated, educators, psychologists etc. There were 2 other screenings taking place at the same time and traffic jams were significant. This screening was not well attended. We were glad to have had the opportunity to

Great! At times the audio was too loud, the yelling was too loud, and due to the accent, sometimes the words were indistinguishable (at the part where the young lad screamed his truth). I love visual effects. You may want to work in conjunction with Kleenex because the audience will need it--heavy duty. Love it when men try to hide their tears! LOL

A breathtakingly beautiful and dynamic film that typifies the art of visual storytelling in the gothic style. Focus Features’ A Monster Calls directed by J.A. Bayona is nothing short of a Terms of Endearment, in theme anyway, for a new generation. You are certain to laugh and cry your way through the film.

I thought it was an excellent movie overall. The acting was great and the locations, sets, cinematography and animations were beautiful. The story fell short in the ending. It was depressing, with no real depth or character growth to balance the darkness. It is told hrough the boy'sperspective, who is sad and somewhat a victim to the adults and circumstances in his life.
