Surprisingly good film. Shallow and deep, stupid and smart, all in one fell swoop. May be limited in demographic appeal, but if you're 15-25 OR 45-60, I think you'll love it. (The setting: 18-22 year old competitive boy baseball players partying hard and bonding in the three days before school (college) starts in 1980. And if you're of that vintage - spot on soundtrack. Good stuff.

Really enjoyed it. Brought back some memories of the era and great soundtrack. Really funny too!

For a somewhat plotless film, Linklater was able to create a very interesting and thoughtful piece of art defining the 80s period to a tee. Male audiences may find the film more appealing as the women characters are mostly flat and/or sexualized present as mere objects or play toys. With that said, the dialogue and whit of the characters keeps you entertained.

Very well written story. Enjopyed the movie and was surprised that it actually told a very poignant story without cheap tricks one might expect from a title! Well worth watching again.
