Jennifer Hudson did a brilliant job portraying the Queen of Soul. Her presence in every scene was regal snd the singing was a blend of her strength and Aretha’s soulful yet vulnerable style. Marlon Wayans is a powerhouse in his role as well. Completely removed from his familiar comedic role, he delivers a totally authentic performance. As for costuming and hair- this was a trip back to the 60s and 70s that did not disappoint. There was a classiness to every event back then, even a casual dinner party or back yard cookout was a chance to dress up.

Acting was spectacular! A bit too long tho. Would have liked more of her performances.

I thought it was great, Jennifer Hudson did an awesome job. So much i did not know about Aretha Franklin, but left me with some unanswered questions and now i want to learn more.The music was great, and just when i started to think it was getting too long it ended. Very good movie, thanks for the opportunity to see it early!
