Excellent and entertaining version of this classic story.

Fantastic on it's own and as good or better than the original!

So much better than the original!! The music and dance is so spectacular set in the gritty locations! The actors now represent their roles, a welcome change from the 60s. The romantic tragedy is so touching and is so relevant today. I’ve read some very critical reviews from “professionals” but I am still singing the music and have that “It’s great to go back to the movies!” feeling!

Rita Moreno as Doc's widow, running the pharmacy, was brilliant just like her -she's still beautiful and an incredible actress, Her character weaves the story together with class and elegance.\r\rThe other characters are magnetic as they draw you into the plot with incredible scenes of singing and dancing...no one loses a beat!
