This movie was very well made, however, I felt that near the middle there's a bit of a lull in the movie, but then picks up again. The movie has some changes in regards to the book, but still makes it work nonetheless.

As good as the original one

This film has jump scares, a decent story, and decent momentum. Because of the element of surprise, the rewatchability of this movie isn't high, but as first time audiences will enjoy the film. For those that have seen the original 1989 iteration, there is enough differences between the two movies to warrant a watch this remake.
