This is a visually stunning movie. Once you finally get to see Atlantis, it will leave you momentarily in awe. But once you get over the beauty of it, you realize this movie is just decent. The first 35-40 minutes drags on. Jason Mamoa and Amber Heard are just ok... Neither are really fit to carry a movie. But the last hour or so is entertaining enough to make you forget all of that.

Jason Mamoa is great when he is on screen as Aquaman, however the underwater scenes are what I thought were a let down. Not only could you not hear most of the dialogue when characters were underwater because of the "ocean noises" in the background, but what should have been the star f the movie, the visuals of the City of Atlantis are a let down because of the murky CGI. I saw the movie in 3D.

It is a movie I would recommend you watch once out on Netflix

I recommend the movie because I love all things super hero.However, much like Wonder Woman before it, this movie lacks successful character development to help the audience fall in love with the hero(es) & romantic/family bonds appeared forced & weak.I will watch it again with my children but DC, please work on the writing & execution of your movies! I'm sure that they are expensive...act like it!
