Cute story, entertaining. Aimed more towards a younger audience. The Mars/space/NASA scenes were visually very realistic, although the science & physics was not. Instant texting between Earth and Mars? Really?

Too unbelievable. No science. Didn't like the modern music.

I thought it was going to be dumb after reading the summary, but I thought it was pretty decent.

It was an interesting story but the character development was a little slow (in the beginning). The beginning was also a bit confusing and choppy. The interaction between Gardener and Tulsa was good and well acted but not well established in the beginning. It dives right into their online relationship. I wish it would have focused more on Gardner's experiences in earth (for example the horse scene was fantastic). I felt that the "implied" sex scene was unnecessary for this movie. I understand the relationship angle but the trailer clearly shows this as a teenage movie and therefore I found it to be in bad taste (especially when high school students were invited to the advance screening). I also felt that Gary Oldman was uncharacteristically bad....real bad. His character was very annoying and extremely over the top aggravating at times. I usually enjoy the character he plays in a film but I almost gave it two stars just because of his over acting.
