I thought the movie was slow-paced for the first half and that the dialogue was stilted and phony. The movie got better in the second half. I will say that the movie appeared much better in the trailer than it actually was. I guess that because of the reasons cited above and what I think was poor editing. All in all, it was just "okay".

It was a good movie as a family movie I can see were it might have a sequel to it.

Is a cute movie

I like this movie, but, man, Gary Oldman over act the part A LOT. The 2 leading roles are decent. The plot in a none scientific point of view is plausible. However, it has the big mistake of assuming that instant communication between Earth and Mars is possible. Giving the need of developing personal relationship amount chars on Earth and Mars in the story line, it's understandable that the writer bent the law of nature. Over all, 3 start out of 5.
