Great movie, loved the Lego connections.

Boring until the middle of movie

Unfortunately, the combo of an adult biopic with kid Lego marketing results in a film that can't fully embrace either aspect. The synesthesia element would require CGI elements regardless, so utilizing Lego was a fun choice. Keeping synesthesia front and center would've been a strong through-line to tie all the elements together but unfortunately got lost after the first quarter of the film. I appreciate that the film was willing to mention the BLM protests in the wake of George Floyd's murder, but the full impact was lost to keep things PG because it's a Lego branded film.

Interesting, but boring. I'm not even sure my 8 year old would watch it, even with it being a LEGO movie.
