Needed a script, depth, a decision as to what it was about - jazz, love, race? Certainly wasn't made by Spike Lee. Just because it was ABOUT the 50s, it didn't have to be like the movies were then. Total lack of grit, reality, human emotion, story twists, creativity, music or anything memorable. Rubbish.
