It was clunky and didn't find its flow. It felt like it was trying to fit too much into the story for any of the pieces to be able to be successful, let alone the movie as a whole.

I really wanted to like Boogie, and from its brazen opposition of Salinger to its cultural focus on responsibility, I kind of do. But Boogie never really learns his lesson or figures himself out, he just sort of 8 mile's it until this moment is over, then it's on to the next one.

Stereotypical plot, biased, extreme stereotyping. This was supposed to be a movie about a young mans dream to become an NBA player, but hardly any actual ball playing. In today's climate, I don't think the racial slurs were appropriate, nor do I feel it played a necessary part.

Fairly typical sports story. Unnecessary themes to make it an R-rating. It was alright.
