It was great-we really liked it!

Based on true life events, Queen Victoria's story is poignantly told from a point of view rarely seen. Though she is portrayed stereotypically initially, as the plot and characters develop we learn that what she wants is what we all want - meaningful, human and social connection. The friendship between the Queen and Abdul is beautiful to watch. She's open and trusting, eager to learn Urdu and about history from his point of view. It is worth noting that this film is full of transcendent lessons which make it even more pleasurable to watch and experience.

Lovely! Light and funny and many times moving. I wonder what the monarchy thinks about this one since it was apparently suppressed for a very long time!
