The first five minutes of the movie is rife with editing problems that are glaringly obvious. Overall it is an exercise in wrote storytelling, slow paced until the third act. The characters have definitive weaknesses, with Sawyer truly being the stronger arc to the story; I believe Sadie was meant to be the stronger of the three protagonists, however, she comes across a bit glib.

"The Boogeyman" attempts to lure audiences into a spine-chilling journey, but unfortunately falls prey to an overly slow pace, predictable plot, and lack of originality. While the film manages to offer some visually striking imagery, its failure to effectively depict the boogeyman and deliver genuine scares leaves much to be desired. It's a déja vu!
