Its a movie about a woman who has an affair while engaged. Getting pregnant by the man she had an affair with, knowingly has feelings for him, yet marries her fiance anyway. And he marries her knowing in his heart she's in love with someone else. Only for 5 years later for the guy to come back that she had an affair with and does it again. This time she leaves her husband so she can be her own woman. The movie doesnt even touch base with the fact that the man the little girl thinks is her father is now being ripped from her life while a new man is swept in. Instantly she likes him. Unrealistic

The writing is too predictable, which is too bad because the actors are very good. But they have to use the script they were provided, which is full of cliches and plot points from many similar movies. It was almost as if the producers wanted to make a Black version of a standard white movie. How many times does a movie heroine end up pregnant to push the story? The only truly unusual points were when Sylvie called out her husband's boss and wife as racists and when she was hired as an assistant to a producer and talked about sexism. The most enjoyable part was the music.

Plot moved at too slow of a pace for my preference.
