Good depiction of coping with loss but having just watched Nomadland a few days ago, its difficult not to compare. Nomad was so detailed about grief Zander so realistic. Might have enjoyed Land more if i had seen it first. Still, it was well done and moving. The tragedy of random gun violence is a topic that is very important to see reflected in film. Land did a great job of revealing the depth of impact of this type of loss.

It was good, thank you. I enjoyed watching it. The actors all did well. Being a vegan, I am not a fan of killing animals; but, nonetheless, I can appreciate the need to live off of the land.

Wright’s portrayal of grief-stricken Edee is so painfully real. And, Bichir’s performance as Miguel is extremely authentic as an altruistic, kind mountain man. \rEdee’s refusal of human contact and interaction is both understandable and frustrating simultaneously. \rIt’s as if nature, particularly winter, and grief are additional characters in the story. \rWhen Edee packs up and hikes into town because she knew something was wrong with Miguel, I felt a shift in her healing. There was hope and light in the midst of something so very sad. \r

I thought it was compelling. Very well acted by the principals. The scenery was also a star! I’ll encourage friends to see it too.
