Started off strong; got worse as time went on. Couldn't meaningfully connect w/ the characters. Bizarre character decisions. Excessive suspension of disbelief. There is a deus ex machina-esque plot device. The aliens/videos were ridiculous-looking. The moral is clear (empathy, "other"ing) bc of the lazy heavy handed writing and didactic approach to the story. Emily Blunt was really good at least!

A very bad movie, which I truly didn’t expect from the incredibly talented Steven Spielberg.\r\rThe only positives I could point out were the music, Emily Blunt’s performance, and the car action sequences. Everything else was poorly executed.\r\rA disappoint on its own, but especially because this came from the movie legend himself.

I REALLY wanted to like it. Stephen Spielberg, Emily Blunt, Aliens all things I love. But this really missed the mark for me.The plot was predictable. The CGI animals were so poorly done it was laughable. And I left the movie with about 30 questions. I feel alot of information was missed and a lot of unnecessary parts that didnt add to the story. I dont have enough space to say everything. Call me
