Truly shameful what they allow to get made. 30 million dollars for what. Scott Derrickson, you are awful; an abominable effort on all fronts. Just one writing cliché after another after another, the most tired storyline, horribly cheap, common denominator efforts at humour, just every aspect was shockingly bad. 
Watch Friday the 13th or Nightmare on Elm Street instead.

So bad if I could give 0 stars I would

This sequel takes a formula that worked (horror that was grounded in reality) and turns it into a remake of "A Nightmare on Elm Street", except this Freddy only has about 5 mins of screen time. The rest is the wooden actors delivering poorly written setup dialogue. I enjoyed the visual risks taken by the director and it did create an eerie mood, it's just a shame the actors take you out of it.
