Didn’t know what to expect and totally blew all expectations. Took my date and think I’m gonna strike lucky.

Barbie is a lot of fun! It is a sly critique of gender roles wrapped in an inventive tale with great art direction, special effects, music, and entertaining performances. I’m already looking forward to seeing it again.

There was an interview were Margot said this film is for everyone, and she’s right, it’s literally for anyone and everyone! It’s highly entertaining, fun, a times can be heartfelt and emotional. Ryan and Margot are perfectly cast and Barbie and Ken as well as all the other Barbie’s and Ken. I’m taking my niece to see this on the weekend and can’t wait to see her reaction to it!

I appreciate that it touches on important topics such as individuality, breaking down toxic masculinity and mother/daughter dynamics. While exploring these subplots may be bloated and rushed at times, the film does a good job balancing them with humorous moments. Ryan Gosling is excellent as Ken and my favourite performance. Margot Robbie is fantastic as she navigates humanizing Barbie.
