I thought the movie was phenomenal. It truly portrayed what African Americans, no matter their age, living in poverty areas go through on a day to day basis. I believe this type of movie should be shown in modern day history classes to educate students on racism, oppression, community violence, and more.

I read the book first. I was pleasantly surprised when I learned it was becoming a movie. The movie brought the book to life so much! Even if you haven't read the book you will still enjoy immensely! It's a must see!

It was excellent. The actors and actresses made me believe in their plight. I was angry, sad, and happy. I will go and watch it again when it officially comes out.
