4.5/5I attended the advance screening in Dallas, and luckily there was no booing or yelling at the screen as there have been at other screenings that I've heard about. Everyone was quiet and respectful, things which I don't think are going to happen with a wide release on Friday. The film is ambitious in every respect, from story to cinematography, set design, and of course the gorgeous score by Cliff Martinez. Although this is a perverse and vile take on the fashion industry, there are many moments of humor that lighten the mood. This doesn't stop the film from having an underlying tone of sadness that's hard to shake as well, and there is a large theme of the loss of innocence that is done excellently. The last act of the film is absolutely insane, and will leave cause many to be divided on the film. A completely absorbing and hypnotic experience that deserves to be seen. This will never reach the Academy for recognition, as they mostly pick movies that are safe, but I hope it gets some type of recognition nonetheless.

The cinematic experience was stunning. Wide shots that added volumes to the dialogue and act ion. Amazing. Great sound track too!
