fun on crack

Beautifully shot with a virtuoso cast, this was a really enjoyable film. I took one star off because some of the moralizing was a bit heavy handed and some scenes were a bit over-explained. I also could have done without the last 45 minutes to an hour of the film. It had a great natural ending, but then it went on unnecessarily to make points overtly that were already made subtly. Still great.

BABYLON shows what people did for fame and fortune in the early days of Hollywood and the hedonistic and sordid lifestyles that occurred during those days. Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, Diego Calva and Jovan Adepo gave great performances along with the rest of the supporting cast. The film holds your attention by rendering a very realistic peek at the past. I highly recommend it.
