Den of Thieves was not what I hoped it would be, a movie with a good moral lesson. First it started out boring, then some action was gradually added along the way. It seemed that this movie was saying that cops and ex-military are corrupt and neither are capable of redeeming themselves. What kind of positive aspect is that? Yes, their are bad bunches out there, but how come Hollywood portrays crime as something to inspire as a good potential possibility? Just because a majority of everyone died in the end and the black bartender ended up being a super mastermind plotting everything from the beginning and ends up succeeding with his plot to still millions of dollars and exit the country plotting again doesn't mean it's good to make movies like this which will influence malleable minds into thinking, maybe they can do that. A great deal of society is susceptible to the media, shows, films, so we have to contribute to the well being of that society as a whole. In addition, the main character ends up loosing his marriage/family and a supporting character congratulates him after getting served divorce papers. What kind of attitude are we trying to portray here, that that is a good thing? It certainly is not, and no good reason why it should be suggested that it is. Negative influence movies rarely inspire positive results, so it's beneficial if they are limited. You did ask for my opinion, so I provided it. However, from the aspect of a film perspective, I thought it was kind of mostly un-original in content, this similar story line has been portrayed multiple times in several films, so it could use some more original thought. In addition, some of the story line didn't even flow well, nor was there a good backstory to why they were robbing banks to begin with other than greed. Did everyone do this for the same reason or what? It seems like several parts of the plot were missing, maybe due to poor editing, I do not know. But better character building and plot flow could have dramatically helped with increasing the review rating. Over-all I give 2.5/5 starts, but had to round up as half points are unavailable.

I loved how this movie has you guessing each and every time. Great action, excellent story plot, a very excellent film indeed. This a movie I would really enjoy seeing again and again. The way it started out is how I thought that the character merriman who I thought was the mastermind behind all of the robberies, when it was Donnie the cool, collected, car driver and he had his own people too. That was a sweet ending to this movie.
