Was ok

Cant give it a fair rating....was not ready to settle in for a movie wrought with conflicts that night.

There's a lot that's great about it but also it has a very first-draft feel. I'm Asian American and have parents who are kind of fuckups so a lot of this felt familiar and real to me, but also there were a lot of threads that just don't quite come together. Melvin gets beaten pretty bad so it's weird that we're expected to side against him when he presses charges. Overall it felt like the mom got the short stick and it unbalanced the movie.
