The best part of the movie was allowing the audience to try to understand what it was like to suddenly lose hearing. However, there was a gap between when Ruben first lost his hearing & was so angry and when he suddenly knew sign language & became a part of the community. The transition was not shared and we are not told how much time passed. He suddenly decides to get implants. The actor who played the leader of the deaf home was excellent. Implants are not the final answer. Ruben had to go through more therapy & learn to live his life differently. Sadly, we don't get to see that.

It was fine. There were no obvious flaws, but it also failed to make the story gripping. It was inconsistent in when it did and did not use sound to put us in the lead character's headspace.
