It is worth the watch but at times it dragged. The lead male actor did a good job with his role. If you don't like to read subtitles, skip this movie.

This was a very interesting story on many levels & having close captioning included was a big help. The protagonist's motivations were very difficult to discern at times and at the end, the whole film really jumps the rails. Lulu's father isn't a very developed character. It is unclear why the protagonist broke up with Lulu or whether the cochlear implants were a permanent disconnect or not. It wasn't clear why Lulu cut herself. I don't need every last thing tied up with a bow, but so many unanswered questions throughout the whole movie. It does give a good understanding of the deaf community.

At times, it seemed like the film was trying to hard to be accessible to the audience--pushing the drama--rather than allowing Ruben's journey to unfold. Ruben's introduction into the deaf community was the most interesting part. It would have been great to see more of that, and more of the acceptance that Ruben finally finds.
