I did not rate because I was unable to watch without the movie breaking up every 10 min. After a while decided to give up and hope to watch when available on Amazon Prime.

It didn’t hold my attention.

It’s really disappointing for an Alan Ball project. It seemed more like an after-school special than a mature drama. (And the attempts at comedy were really clumsy, especially from the mincing stereotype of a boyfriend.) \r\rThe film didn’t seem to know whether to focus on Beth or Frank, so both characters ended up feeling inauthentic and half-baked. Stephen Root’s performance was over the top.

The movie was rather slow. I didn't personally like the subject matter either.
