A movie to definitely see twice, first to be admire the acting and beautiful cinematic presentation, next to focus on the subtext of the relationship between the three major characters.My only qualm is that I'd wished I had more emotionally invested in these characters, but that might come with 2nd or 3rd viewings. I learned a long time ago, that Paul Thomas Anderson's films require repeated viewing to be truly appreciated.I appreciate the passes very much ... many thanks!

Beautifully realized time capsule. Director PTA captures the tone of movies from a bygone era. This dark romantic drama shows the cyclical nature of relationships. Exquisitely detailed. Highly original. Not Day-Lewis' best performance but a nuanced swan song to a highly lauded career.

Very intriguing, given the "tame" subject matter. I liked the style and setting of the movie, and the twists in the story.

It may be slow for many, but rarely is the quiet tension of a relationship felt so deeply, even at such a remove.
