Very dark and dismal. Not a sungle character was sympathetic nor even slightly likeable, so I couldn't identity with anyone on screen. It was well acted and might even be realistic for the time in history it was portraying. But not a movie that I would tell my friends to see.

Exceptional acting good costumes and cinematography but a dreadfully boring and uncomfortable story.

Characters weren't developed enough. Pretty basic love tragedy story. Pugh did an outstanding job
