Interesting movie premise, atmospheric and good pacing. However, audience expectations have been elevated to lofty heights courtesy of James Wan's handling of this genre in recent years. Thus 'The Bye bye Man' appears sophomoric in comparison, suffering from inferior screenplay and the main actress' acting. Faye Dunaway, on the other hand, is a surprise treat. I find this movie to be promising but falters towards the end as it fails to keep the tension and tone of the first half. It is evident when several people in the audience burst out laughing at the death scene of Mrs.Watkins, the librarian. By this time, they appear to cease following the plot or care about the characters. I would recommend this movie only to friends who take scares in small doses.

It was pretty good. It is more of a psychological thriller then a horror as I was led to believe from the TV trailer. There was little in the was of blood and gore. That being said the psychological aspects were good it had twists that keeps the audience guessing.

The movie was alright. I just did not get or thought it was believable how the people in the movie lost their minds just by saying the person name. It had its scary moments.
