The film was realistic and displays a great representation of the cultural identity struggle children of immigrants have. I enjoyed the 2008 setting and seeing MySpace, etc. My mom is an immigrant and was similar to his mom in the film!

Great movie if you’re a teenager from the early 2000s

Beautiful portrait of a Taiwanese American family shifting through generational milestones and a biting and hilariously awkward snapshot of coming of age at the same time as the early internet.

I thought it was beautifully written, directed, and performed. It's so rare to find coming of age films that center Asian American characters, which actually feature actors who are of the same age as their character. Izaac Wang gave a stellar performance, as did Joan Chen who has been long under appreciated by Hollywood.
