Great movie overall.

Thought I was going to have a stroke during the first CG race sequence, but after that they settled nicely into the story and character development. It had an old school charm, not just because of the pop references, but the "feel" of the movie was very Goonies/ E.T.Some editing at the end would have been appreciated for sure, but overall a "go-see"!

I've been waiting for months to see this movie, because I loved the book so much. Unfortunately, this is yet another movie that wasn't as good as the book. Nevertheless, it was action-packed, fun, and had good references to '80s pop culture. It was a bit cheesy and more didactic than the book was. So the book will be more engaging for adults; whereas the movie will be a hit with teenage boys.

A lot of changes from the book. Too rushed at times.
