A safe, accessible hollywood blockbuster. A fine spectacle. Well cast. The villain's motive was not clear. He "wanted" the monsters to come in and destroy the worlds but why? what would he have to gain? Was he a monster escaped from the other side? I don't know.Fans of the books might feel short changed, and at the same time enjoy the literary references. Steven King fans will get to play the "spot-the-Easter-Egg" game, which is fun.Audience reaction was nothing special at the end.

Found it hard to watch

I loved the concept and am a big Stephen King fan. I felt Idris was amazing, Matthew was just "ok." Much of the dialogue felt forced or unnatural. It seemed almost like a B-movie was playing with these two huge stars and great production value. Action scenes were great. Final showdown scene was anti-climatic. Found a few plot holes that left me scratching my head. The score didn't seem to fit many times too. Harry Potter via Stephen King? Amp down some violence and you get a kids movie.

Did not like the storyline, the acting and predictable ending. Never heard about the 7 books before but hope they don't make 6 more of these movies! Sorry!
