The war becomes real and personal in this strong portrayal of a family's attempt to save their animals. More importantly, they want to save people, the real treasures of Warsaw. Must see.

One of the best movies! Jessica Chastain deserves an Academy Award nomination for best actress!

This story is enlightening, heartwarming and sad. It was so honest and raw that it made me weep. I wanted to walk out of the theatre about 3 times during the film because (even though I knew the story of the holocaust) the realness, truth and pain were almost more than I could bear... but, I was invested. There were all the twist and turns and variations of a movie filled with everyday heroes. Bravo!
